LASI20 Accommodations
LASI20 does not have a particular room block for this year’s event allowing our attendees to find the best option for them. However, please find a list below of hotels that are in close proximity to our venue, Teachers College Columbia University and that has preferred rates through the University.
We do not recommend any hotel or accommodation option over the other. As always, use your best judgement, do your research and select within your budget. If we can assist you with any questions that you may have, please contact us at solarsocietymgmt@gmail.com.

Hotel Options
- Edge Hotel (2.7mi) - access Edge's preferred rates ($179 - 239, rates vary depending on night of stay). You can also contact the hotel directly to book and be sure to request the Columbia University rate (646) 396-6612.
- Hotel Belleclaire (2.4mi) - access Belleclaire's preferred rates ($229).
- Aloft Harlem (.06mi) - access Aloft's preferred rates ($260).
- Hotel Beacon (2.3mi) - access Beacon's preferred rates ($265).
- Hotel Newton (1.3 mi) - final rates have not been negotiated by the hotel for this time period. Check back after mid-February for updates.
All NYC hotels are subject to 14.75% hotel occupancy tax + $3.50 per night. The above nightly rates do not include any taxes or fees. For exact calculation of taxes and fees, please contact the hotel directly.

Teachers College Summer Housing
Teachers College Columbia University has limited Summer Conference Housing Available. You must apply and will hear back within 1-2 weeks.
All units have private baths, are air conditioned, and are furnished with a desk chair, floor lamp, dresser, wardrobe or closet, and a micro-fridge (combination microwave oven and refrigerator/freezer)

Private Twin ($127/ night)
twin XL size bed, no kitchen, comfortably sleeps one
Private Full ($147/night)
full XL bed, kitchen, comfortably sleeps two

Airbnb
There are hundreds of Airbnb's listed in New York City. If you'd like to stay within the vicinity of Teachers College, you can filter by neighborhood and select, Morningside Heights, Upper West side, Hamilton Heights, Hells Kitchen (anywhere on the West side of Manhattan from 59th street to 130th street). If you are staying longer than the event, Airbnb's may provide you with more amenities of home, such as a kitchen, etc.
