Professorship (W2) for E-Learning

The Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Würzburg has an open tenured position in the Institute for Computer Science starting 16 November 2022: Professorship (W2) for E-Learning.

The applicant shall represent the subject of e-learning in research and teaching. The entire development cycle of e-learning from conception and design to technical implementation and evaluation (incl. learning analysis) should be taken into account. Possible focal points of work are:

  • E-assessment
  • Educational Data Science
  • E-learning platforms
  • Intelligent Tutorial Systems
  • Learning Analytics
  • Pedagogical Agents
  • Serious Games
  • Support systems for classroom teaching
  • Virtual learning spaces

Potential for cooperation with the newly founded Center for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (CAIDAS, go.uniwue.de/caidas) is assumed. Willingness for interdisciplinary cooperation with the Competence Centre for Digital Teaching and Learning (DigiLLabs, go.uniwue.de/digillabs) of the Professional School of Education is desired. Experience in acquiring third-party funding and in interdisciplinary research cooperation is expected.

The teaching duties include offers for the modularised teacher training and computer science degree programmes represented at the University of Würzburg and, if applicable, in the Games Engineering degree programme.

Requirements are a completed university education, pedagogical qualification, the particular competence for scientific work generally proved by a Ph.D. or a doctoral degree, and a habilitation or an equivalent record of relevant scientific achievements in the area of e-learning, which can also be provided by a junior professorship or from outside of academia.

An appointment as a civil servant according to Art. 10 para. 3 BayHSchPG can only happen up to the age of 52 years. Exceptions are possible in urgent cases.
