LAK26 Important Update: Conference Venue & Accommodation
Dear Conference Delegates,
We are pleased to share that we have successfully secured an alternate conference venue arrangement for next week. We will be located between Scandic Bergen City and Hotel Neptun. Addresses located at the bottom of this email. We will work over the next day or so to update all Whova locations and website locations to ensure everyone knows where to be for the pre-conference and main conference days.
Delegates who previously booked via the LAK website link through Kongress at the Radisson should have now all received individual messages with your alternative hotel booking at either Scandic Bergen City or its sister hotel, Hotel Neptun. Between these two hotels, we were able to accommodate all delegates who had conference bookings at the Radisson.
Delegates who booked directly with the Radisson should have received some form of communication and/or cancellation from the Radisson with suggestions for alternate bookings. If that is not the case, feel free to inquire with the above hotels or other area hotels not impacted by the strike.
We would also like to reassure you that all pre-conference and main conference events will take place as planned and on the originally published schedule. Over the coming days, our team will update all session and venue locations in Whova so that everyone has clear and accurate information on where to be for each event.
As we continue to finalize all details of the event, we will continue to keep you updated.

Dear LAK26 delegates,
We are writing to share an important update as you prepare to travel to Bergen for the upcoming conference.
Yesterday, our team learned that an ongoing labor strike in Bergen is affecting parts of the hospitality sector. As a result, the conference hotel is currently closed and has contacted guests with reservations at that property directly. We understand that some delegates may already be aware of this.
The strike is also impacting multiple hotels in the Bergen area, while others continue to operate. The situation varies by property and remains fluid.
The conference organizing team is actively working with our local hosts, venue partners, and service providers to plan for all contingencies. This includes alternate locations for the pre-conference workshops and main conference events, if required. We are in close communication with the conference hotel and expect greater clarity later this week, with a decision point on Thursday.
Our priority is to ensure a safe and high-quality conference experience for all participants. We recognize that many of you are traveling from around the world and that this uncertainty may be challenging. At this stage, no immediate action is required from delegates. We recommend monitoring communications from your accommodation provider and airline, and relying on official conference updates for event-related information.
*Please note if you have booked the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel through Kongress (e.g. the link on the LAK website), you will be unable to receive a refund if you cancel BEFORE Thursday afternoon Bergen Time. In the meantime, you are welcome to look for other accommodations but please be aware of their cancellation policies as the strike may be resolved before Thursday and your booking through Kongress will not be refunded.
We will provide an update no later than Thursday, April 23, or sooner if there are significant developments.
