After 15 years and a number of new insights about the field, it was timely to revisit the definition to ensure that it still holds true as the field continues to grow alongside other advancements. The new definition follows.
Learning analytics is the collection, analysis, interpretation and communication of data about learners and their learning that provides theoretically relevant and actionable insights to enhance learning and teaching.
