The Student Success Analyst is a key member of the Pearson Online Learning Services short-course product team. The successful candidate will use retention and student advising expertise in combination with qualitative and quantitative data to drive improved student outcomes. The group’s primary purpose is to create a market-leading student experience with completion rates that exceed the competition. This role is also responsible for supporting all the nonstudent facing elements that go into providing student services for an online program including but not limited to; cross-functional communication, data transfer, student database upkeep, budgeting and forecasting, program material creation and some learning management system administration.

General Responsibilities

Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Continuously analyze enrollment data to identify trends and factors that influence completion
  • Meet or exceed student completion and Net Promoter Score (NPS) targets each month
  • Research, propose and test innovative interventions that address key risk factors and can scale
  • Identify at-risk students and courses that require a higher-touch support model
  • Review student survey data each month and recommend areas for improvement
  • Monitor Help Desk data and create FAQs/process improvements that mitigate high-volume areas
  • Create compelling visualizations and presentations to communicate conclusions to stakeholders
  • Provide high-touch advising support to students who opt-in or to those identified as at-risk
  • Generate student communication campaigns that encourage learners to persist and complete
  • Create and maintain pace charts and Learning Tracker metrics for courses in our portfolio
  • Support process documentation for the short-course student success function
  • Maintain accurate enrollment forecasts and contribute to annual budgeting process
  • Ensure enrollment reconciliation is completed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Follow all process and timeline expectations for data entry and data management in our systems
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Strong analytical skills with a track record of developing actionable recommendations from both quantitative and qualitative data
  • Experience with at least one data analytics toolset such as R, Python, SPSS or SAS
  • Basic SQL skills
  • Ability to work effectively across teams both in person or remotely
  • Oral and written communication skills to support effective presentations to stakeholders
  • Ability to develop and maintain trust relationships with students
  • Great attention to detail, excellent organizational & project management skills
  • The ability to multi-task, and work well under pressure with tight timelines
  • Must be able to perform non-local travel up to 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in data analysis or educational psychology
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques and the ability to communicate these concepts to stakeholders
  • 3 years of experience in higher education student services or corporate professional development
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Microsoft Office 365, Google Big Query, Pardot
  • Proven ability to influence change
