NLP Postdoctoral Research Scholar

The Department of Psychology at Arizona State University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Scholar to join the Science of Learning and Educational Technologies (SoLET) Laboratory directed by Danielle McNamara. The postdoctoral research scholar will work on projects funded by the IES and ONR to aid in studies using Natural Language Processing (i.e., computational linguistics, machine learning) that explore factors influencing students’ performance in comprehension, writing, and mathematics.  The ideal candidate will have expertise in natural language processing, data analytics, data management, and machine learning, with some knowledge of topics related to linguistics, language, discourse processing, or literacy.  The position involves working in a collaborative research lab focusing on learning and cognitive sciences.

The position is full-time, fiscal-year (12-month), benefits-eligible appointment with no tenure implications. Anticipated start date is October 5, 2020 or as soon after that date as possible.

The qualification for this position: must have earned a Ph.D. in psychology, computational linguistics, computer science, cognitive science or in a related field within the past four years.

Salary range is $52,704.00 to $55,596.00 depending on previous experience.
