  1. Project Description
  • Project 1: Construction of new-generation flexible learning environment and GenAI-driven scaffolding technologies; supported by the mentor’s research project, reviewing classic learning theories and literature, conducting experimental or quasi-experimental studies in laboratory and real learning scenarios. Collect and analyze multimodal data such as learning trace data, think-aloud protocols, discourse texts, qualitative interviews, and questionnaires, using techniques like machine learning, reinforcement learning, process mining, and epistemic network analysis. Aim to produce new understandings of future learning theories, original technical solutions, and impactful empirical research.
  • Project 2: Enhancing IT and AI literacy among primary and secondary school students in a large-scale and longitudinal study; supported by the mentor’s research project, developing teaching resources for IT courses in economically developed and underdeveloped regions of China, designing IT and AI literacy tracking and evaluation schemes, and designing intervention tools using cloud computing and generative AI. Design, manage, and execute large-scale (over 100 project schools), long-term (2-3 years) experiments aimed at bridging the digital divide. Conduct analysis based on related research, produce project evaluation reports, organize academic events, and write influential academic papers.


  1. Basic Qualifications
  • Meet the basic requirements for applying for Peking University Boya Postdoctoral Fellowships (;
  • PhD degree in Education Technology, Learning Analytics, Psychology, Computer Science or related fields within the last three years, 2024 and 2025 graduates can also apply;
  • Excellent academic writing skills in English, outstanding teamwork and communication skills;
  • Proven experience in reviewing literature, experimental and quasi-experimental design, qualitative methods, and being a quick learner.
  • Published at least one first-author paper at the LAK conference or top-tier peer-reviewed journals in the relevant field in the past five years.

  • Rich experience in instructional design and advanced skills in learning analytics;
  • Proficient in R or Python, experienced in handling multimodal data;
  • Experience in independently designing and leading academic research, with strong self-motivation;
  • Ability to balance work and life well, with productive, sustained, and healthy work ethic.

  • Peking University Boya Postdoctoral annual salary (pre-tax) 200,000 RMB+;
  • 120,000 RMB research start-up fund during the project period;
  • Postdoctoral apartment provided by the university or 60,000 RMB/year housing subsidy, plus another 12,000 RMB/year housing subsidy provided by the state;
  • Necessary insurance, pension, medical care, children’s free admission to Peking University-affiliated kindergarten/primary/middle schools per university regulations
